Max Schneider & Olivia Noelle Thinks “It Will Rain” [Cover originally by Bruno Mars]

I gotta say some of these covers are better than the original but then there is the risk of the cover sounding exactly the same.  The beginning sounded way to similar but the rest of the cover was amazing.  The duet between Max & Olivia was harmonized and well put together.  Like most of Kurt’s videos, I wouldn’t be surprised if this cover went viral.  With the triple duet, I feel like they can go far if they kept coming out with covers.  Olivia has a powerful voice like Christina Grimmie, they should definitely cover a song together.  Hopefully we see more from these 3 and it wont take as long but I know these covers take a lot of hard work.

Jayesslee Have No “Secrets” [Cover by One Republic]

Wow, it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve posted anything but now I’m back and Jayesslee’s timing couldn’t be anymore perfect!  As some of you know Jayesslee has been touring all around the world, sharing their testimonies and showing the beauty of their talent.  Both of their voices seem so perfect with each other, very well harmonized.  Even though their voices equally matched, you can hear the beauty of each voice.  At 0:55 & 2:00 are primary examples of their talent.  That has been something that they both had since day one, when they started to make these YouTube videos.  Hopefully when the tour is over, they will have more time to make videos.  It’s a great thing they’re doing and hopefully people are getting inspired by their love.

Soulscape – Love Is A Song (DFD Remix)

I know I’m about a week late with this video due to being in Korea but I gotta say this track is pretty catchy.  Even though it’s only 2 minutes & 30 seconds, you can always hit the replay button because I myself could listen to this over and over.  This track is something society can relate too, you know the guy playing two girls at once.  They only picked 2 – 3 settings but they went well with the song.  I gotta say Dumbfoundead works hard on every track he works on, it shows in the quality of his videos.  I actually like that he doesn’t come out with video’s everyday or every week because when artists do that, people just get tired of them.

Wax – “Guess Who” ft. Dumbfoundead

It’s always good to hear and see these two rappers team up because they always go off on tracks.  As much as I’m proud of Wax getting signed to Def Jam, I think they should have teamed up way before and got signed together.  It’s time that people recognize real Hip-Hop but I know DFD is doing his own thing as well as Wax.  The fame that they already have is something they should cherish, which they probably do.  Other than Eminem, Jay-Z, and a few other mainstream rappers, the Hip-Hop nation is starting to crumble.  Maybe one day these music companies will realize that there is more talent out there.  Dumbfoundead and Wax are two indubitably examples  As for the track, I like how it was just them two in the spot light rapping.  They make it sound so easy when it comes to rapping but it’s something that you’re either born with or you build yourself up to be the best.  Both of them come from unique backgrounds and have different styles.  If you listen & watch Wax daily, rapping is just one of his musical talents.  Hopefully they come out with another album together because the last one that they did was really well done.

Jason Min – “Something I Said” (Official Music Video)

Woah it’s finally here, Jason Min releases his first music video.  I’ve seen Jason perform live and it’s pretty amazing, his musical talent can set the mood with anyone.  There is something really different about his music, his style is very different but it’s enjoyable to listen to.  As much as I like to watch & listen to Jason Min live, his music video is great as well.  I really like how they made the music video, not to sound repetitive but it’s different from other ones.  If I had to compare this MV, I’d compare it to Clara C’s MV’s.  They both took a different route and created something different.  I could actually see them doing a great video together.  As I was saying, Jason Min’s MV was put together very well, I wouldn’t change one thing.  The MV goes very well with his style of music and scenery was a great choice.  Hopefully we get more from Jason soon.  If you guys would like to know the story behind the song, just take a look here on Jason Min’s Tumblr page here!

Jason Chen & Joseph Vincent – “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” (‘N Sync Cover)

When Jason and Joseph first did a cover together, it was a huge hit!  Their voices went well with the song and the ladies loved them.  After covering ”Just A Dream” by Nelly, they have done many others but I feel like they lost their pizzaz.  They were still great covers but didn’t do as well as “Just A Dream.”  As for this cover, I feel like they will make another big hit but I dont want to jump the gun to early.  One reason I think it’ll make a big is because Christmas is right around the corner and everyone loves Christmas music, they’ll be in the “Christmas mood.”  If the music industry see what I see, Jason & Joseph could be the next big thing.  We’ll just have to wait and see if this video goes viral.

Magnetic North & Taiyo Na (Wong Fu Productions) – Home:Word

This song has such a great message, I’m sure a lot of Asian community can relate to this song.  When parent’s move to America to give their child a better life, even if they had wealthy jobs in their homeland.  When I first listened to this song so many emotions were felt because I can relate to all 3 situations.  This song has somewhat made me speechless but makes me want to express how I feel and to be honest, it makes me happy.  Why do you ask, well I’m just glad I have loving parents who gave up their good life just so I can be something and given me a better life.  Lets not get all to serious now but everyone did a very good job.  Wong Fu Productions always know how to create a wonderful video story line.  It’s been forever since I’ve listened to Magnetic North but I gotta say, I’ve missed their style of music.  I’m not really familiar with Taiyo Na but he made this chorus sound amazing, I’ll be sure to check him out later.

J.Reyez Wants You to “Try Again” (Official Music Video)

I’m really impressed with this music video by J. Reyez.  You can tell he’s worked on his flow and I actually like the chorus.  Usually when rappers sing their own chorus, it doesn’t go to well unless if you’re talented at singing as well or have good equipment.  This song has really reminded me to not give up on my dreams.  My parents don’t really see my writing career and they’ve tried many times to change my major but I’m sticking with it.  As I was saying, J.Reyez has really stepped up his game and I can’t wait to see more from him and his team.  My favorite part in the song is the piano playing in the background, it really sets mood or the tone of the song.  Job well done, J.Reyez.

Jin Ft. Joseph Vincent – “When The Lights Come On”

As some of you know, MC Jin came to America to work on music with a couple of artists like Dumbfoundead, Traphik, and Joseph Vincent.  When Charlie Sheen was the “talk of the town,” Jin, Dumbfoundead, & Traphik teamed up and made a great song about Charlie Sheen.  At first Jin was going to work with the two artists alone but he thought, why not work together?  We knew he was working with Joseph Vincent on a song but we didn’t know when the MV would be released.  I could have sworn I was watching a mainstream MV but that’s not what amazed me most.  It was the story line in the music video, there should always be a deeper meaning into songs.  Joseph Vincent has such amazing talent, I see him doing big things in the music industry.  Not that he hasn’t already, this YouTube stuff is just a small step.  Even though Jin’s album flopped a long time ago in the states, he’s still doing it big where he resides now.  I can see him starting music production company and signing artists like dumbfoundead, Joseph Vincent, Wax, and many more.  Hopefully we see more things from Jin in the near future.

Christina Grimmie Covers “It Will Rain” By Bruno Mars

This cover is unbelievably good, Christina always impresses me with every video.  Her voice will take her far in this world, not that it already has.  I feel like Bruno Mars and Christina should collaborate this song together, their voices would match quite well.  Even though she switched her microphone to make the sound better, it’s not the mic making her voice sound magnificent.  You just hear the clear beauty of Christina’s voice.  Sometimes I wish she would collaborate more like when she did with Sam Tsui & Kurt Schneider, I would love to see her collaborate with a rapper. That’ll be different to see in her videos.
